Thanks
JMO.
Current setup has even more cranking compression and with the 0gauge wire the stock starter works fine.
People like to assume parts "need" to be replaced based on decades old wisdom. There was a time when a stock starter had a problem with a modified engine. These days, not so much.
Thanks for your and everyone else's replies. This Jeg's starter was 2nd on my list, but you may have moved it up to the top.
The stock starter is fine Guys. Even for my 12 to 1 CR stroker. I just have it in a bad environment with these new stainless steel long tube headers. The stock starter solenoid is about 1/16" from an inner header long tube and is dying quickly. I do not want to dent this long tube for many reasons.
If I can get a mini starter to clear my headers that would be great.
This adjustable mini-starter from Jeg's may be the ticket. I was leaning towards the CSR unit because it looks like the smallest mini starter out there.
Thanks again
