Question Help

Hi, I have a 95 firehawk with full boltons and a comp cam ( 229/245 510/540 112 LSA) I Have had it in my car for a week now. I went and Dyno'd this past saturday and put down 279 rwhp and 278 rwtq . I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas as to what could be wrong. MAC mid length headers w/ory, G2 48 mm throttle body, Air foil, fule pressure regulator, cut out, TB bypass, 160 deg thermostat, stock intake, stock heads, stock clutch, 4:10 gears. Comp 229/245/510/540 112LSA cam. Hypertech before the cam. No tuning since then. Thanks in advance.

That cam is a little on the big side 'specially that exhaust duration!
Sure this is not meant to be some wompin' nitrous cam?
It's got the #'s for it.
I would say some tuning will help, but only so much.
Was a drag car the original goal?

I noticed the same thing with that 241 exhaust duration... I dunno, you should definitely be dynoing higher than that with a cam...

The cam you have is a CC306. There are guys with that cam and stock heads with stock tuning that are running high-mid 12's with longtubes (good tuning - low 12's) I would definately say that you should have more power than that. You should be around 310-320.

I would go back and make sure that your rockers are adjusted properly. That will effect it tremendously. My old motor had just a cam and when I set the rockers some of the lifters were not pumped up and when they did pump up the valves would not close all the way. The car nad NO power at all. I adjusted them and prolly gained 40-50 rwhp.

Check that and go from there.
