Who's running em? Which one is best? I like the look of the tread pattern on the II's, and they're the cheapest. I can get em from tirerack for basically 100 each shipped (86 + 15 ship).

I dont expect them to hook like a drag radial, just need some decent wearing street tires.

i ran htzrII on my last rims and they were fine. THey were realtivly quiet and wore well. I went with just HTR Z's this time with the new rims, and they were fine in the rain i got caught in. Unfortunatly for me my tires dry rot before they wear out (car gets 1500 - 2000 miles a year.) Tire Rack rates the Sumis pretty well, and for the money i think they are good. If i DD the car i may have gone a little more expesive, but I did hav a set of Pirellis in the car long ago, and they sucked..

I just got some general exclaim UHP's this spring and really like them for the price. I had some fierce or something on before (came with the wheels) and Fusion's before that. The fusions were descent they lasted about 40k. The generals tho have surprizingly good grip for how cheap they are.

I had 315 HTRz's...they sucked...didn't even last a whole summer(my car is sitting on sumitomo slicks in the garage right now lmao)

just after a few weeks and a few small burnouts I noticed a major loss of traction. I'll never buy them again...

HTRZ II's are ok in the dry, not good in the wet and wear out pretty quick. I would not suggest them even for a street car. You can get a better all around tire that will perform better and last longer which will save money in the long run. The III's are good, but for the money I would recommend Kumho Ecsta's for one...

I liked them and they were pretty good when they had tread. As soon as they worn down a bit or when the weather was a little cold they were useless.

Ive been running HRZs on salad shooters for a while, have about 10k miles and over 50 track passes with 3 second burnouts before each, still have more than half tread. Best of 1.999 60' and 8.39 1/8th. HORRIBLE in snow. Absolutely ******* worthless in snow.

Good luck if you are using them at the strip... My best 60ft was a 1.9 but that was very carefully.. stall launches generally resulted in a 2.5 60 ft with me spinning like a mad banshee sitting sideways practically.

As far as mileage, they are a real hard tire... No problems here yet with 8k on them

I bought the HTRZ's because they were cheap and i knew that all i would just burn them off anyways. I was somewhat surprised how well they actually hooked up on the street (for such a cheap tire), don't get me wrong, they still spun a little bit, but not near as easy as i had hoped. In my opinion they are not great for wet weather, they also suck at the drag strip, but if you are just going to be planning on going through tires why not save a little money. If you are looking for something with good traction, obviously this is not the tire that you should buy.

I have about 3k miles on the tires right now and i would say that they have about 2/3 -3/4 tread left. That is with taking off hard at almost every street light (unless there are cops around), and I drive a lot in town so there are a lot of street lights!

With all of that said, I would buy them again.

Not sure which Sumitomos I bought, but they were very cheap. They had some large groove in the center. Maybe $75 a tire. Used them for up front and they were great for rain/shine. Held a corner pretty well and were quiet. Would never use them for the track though.
