What kind of lifters are these? How do they fit into the lifter bores? Is there any resistance when put into the lifter bores?

they are supposed to be gm replacements not ls7s but from before they switched over to those as replacment lifters for lt1s they were in my buddies garage (in a ziploc) for a while never used I dont think he would lie to me about what they were, not like he was trying to pass them off as something expensive.

they fit fine when you drop them in the bore they slide down nice and easy on there own, dont bind in any way.

Why wouldn't you just invest in a set of LS7s so you aren't guessing? Eliminate that part of the equation.

So lets get this straight.

You invested a lot into building a 383, and now your skipping on the pushrods?

Unreal. If I were in your shoes, I'd stop ******* with it and GET THE RIGHT PARTS. Whether you have the money in a day, a week, or a month, it's something you need to do.

Yep! They sound like the exact lifters you need! Lifters in Satan's garage in a ziploc bag. Awesome!

So you're going to take Satan's lifters (which were in a garage in a ziploc bag) that he pawned off to you, installed in your motor where you proceeded to continually screw up the preload, disassembled HALF of them only to find nothing (too much oil in the lifters? ), then put them allll back together again, and now your buddy who is in school at UTI (I should note that he is in the 'learning' phase, not the "graduation" phase), and he's going to "test" them on a completely different motor, then give them back to you after they're magically fixed, all because you don't see the need to invest in a set of OEM-replacement lifters.

Sounds like you got it all figured out then.

ahhh f off

this is the way I see it if hes still "learning" whats the worst case he says there f' up, if he does everything right and they dont work right or he does it wrong and they dont work right well then I'll end up getting new ones but if he does everything right and they work corectly well then there good to go and I wouldn't say hes in the learning phase he does have a 600 horse 3rd gen with a 350 in it that he built and has built a bunch more motors so I think he gets the idea... so what there being tested in a different motor the cam still gonna go round and round and make the lifter go up and down up and down
