Emergency Brake Problem..

Emergency Brake Problem.. Was doing some winter cleaning of my interior/console today and in order to remove the console from the car you have to move the E-brake handle to an almost straight up position. While doing this there was a loud noise and the lever lost all feeling of tension on it. When I went to put the car back in the garage it wouldnt start, rolled over a couple times like it had a dead battery then wouldnt roll over at all. The voltage gauge says the battery is fine but it wont even turn over now. What would the brake being broke have to do with the car starting?
nothing. check all the lines going to and from the battery, starter and check all grounding straps. if you have a battery booster or a charger handy, use it and see if that helps.

So im def. thinking its not the battery. Everything comes on fine and when i try to start the car the "ding" for the ignition goes crazy sounding and the speedometer goes up to like 15-20 and it just makes weird noises... Need help guys, its my daily driver and monday is approaching!
on the brake, sounds like the cable snapped, mine did 2 weeks ago, picked one up for a couple dollars at a junk yard.
mine does the same thing with the battery, my battery was good but weak, replaced it and its better now but occasionally it doesnt want to start, especially after its warm, im going to check my ground cables, and maybe the starter on mine, hope this helps
