Default New car! What next?

I'm getting a 94 firebird formula. Only mod it has is a cold air intake. The car has 124k miles. Automatic trans. I want to put a cam in it, but I want some bolt ons first. What are the best boltons I could get under 1000 dollars.

Longtube headers,intake,mail order tune. Then get a stall/cam/dynotune.

i was thinking some twin turbos. Or should I go with that later? What's the cheepest mod to most expensive? And which add the most power?

i have to agree wit Chavez, Long tube headers if you can get away with it in your state. ORY with an exhuast of your choice(Borla, GMMG, ManaFlow ect...)

Mail order Tune, Gera, stall

Any kind of suspension up grades is a plus.

My county is exempt from emissions . And ok, i found pace setter long tubes, what other pieces do i need? y pipe? i mean, i need to know how this **** hooks up lol.

The y-pipe will get rid of your cat, then get a cutout/muffler or a catback and you have full exhaust. You'll probably want to do plugs/wires at the same time. Also, get a good set of gaskets for the headers, I like the percy's brand.

any install guides online, my grandfather has a shop, but he's very anti preformance for owning many muscle cars in his day. He's just trying to protect me though. I'll be doing all this work myself with a friend of mine. Do I get rid of EVERY stock exhaust piece? or can I keep some?

dude I say this for the best of everyone, but mostly for your own good.

Do a search and learn how everything works and what you like.

We can't be spoon feeding you everything, this is your car not ours.

Stickies at the top, also search the stickies in the ls1 external engine mods section.

Search function will bring up plenty of threads with the same questions as yours.

It's a pita to install long tubes, so get ready for some fun. It's not as bad if you have a lift. This would be a great upgrade tho, and it will sound badass compared to manifolds. Get some 3.73 or 4.10 gears next.

^^yeah it was a pain when I did mine, I don't even know why. The worst part is taking off the orignal ****.

Pacesetters are what I have and they fit perfectly fine on my application.

4.10 gears sound sweet, I really want some but I can't justify it on the stock rear.

I say go with True Duals but if you want to lower the car any sizeable amount, it'll be hard to have nice clearance.

sorry to hijack but those headers from byunspeed that were posted earlier, would those get rusted? I dont think i have worry because im in phx,az but i have a borla catback already installed and those headers are definitely at a good price. So just wanted to see if that was an issue on the painted headers.

Yep they could, but my ceramic coated ones got some rust as well (only on the collectors), painted will just be worse. I'm about to try this "fluid film" on them and see if that helps, supposedly it will.

Ceramic headers will get rusted over a peroid of time but as long as you take care of them (mothers polish) they will last longer.

Rust mainly starts right where the LT meets the Y pipe.
