Default coolant

i want to change the coolant in my lt1 and i heard that you shouldn't use a certain type of coolant. what kind are you not supposed to use??? and what is the best stuff to use?

You can use either the green stuff or Dexcool (the orange stuff). Your choice.

I would use whatever you have in your motor now.

Just don't mix the two. There have been wives tales going around stating how Dexcool is "corrosive" and will do more harm than good. It's horse ****. Don't believe it. What is harmful is when the two are mixed. A reaction will happen and the coolant will gel and start clogging/restricting coolant flow. As stated just use whatever you already have.

The mixing/gelling thing is a wive's tale, as well, but use whatever you have in it now. A 1995 could have come with either type.
