Default slp true duals

since i have the engine out and i wrapped the pacesetters with dei header wrap. i also decided to try and drop some weight off of the car and change my exhaust up. before i had and slp catback off the pacesetter ory. but now i put 10" of pipe off each header and then an slp on each side. these are the shotgun mufflers so there isnt going to be much sound reduction haha.

my question is, should i try to get some type of pipe to run between the two to balance like an h pipe? will it give any significant gain?

Do yourself a favor and rid your headers of that awful header wrap! Header wrap will accelerate deterioration of the header material by keeping moisture in. It is also a fire hazard. Any oil leak (out of the oil fill cap, valve cover, whatever) will be soaked up by the wrap and will BURN if given the chance.

ya i know it will cause them to rust faster, but i was tired of all the heat that the headers were putting off, they melted my msd wires up pretty fast and i was tired of it. not to mention all the heat that comes in through the firewall off of the headers during the summer.

i will try and figure out a way to get an h pipe on the exhaust, i didnt figure it would be a huge gain but i thought it might pick up some power up top.

I would go ahead and do your h-pipe while everything is out. I know from experience it will sound alot better. I'm not sure how much power you'll pick up, but you should pick up some for sure.

Protect the wires with heat sleeves.

Summer heat? Do you think your headers run hotter when it's 90-degrees outside versus 40-degrees? Header temps can reach temps upwards of 1000+ degrees no matter what the temperature is outside. If you want to use it, go ahead, but I'll still think it's ugly, wasteful, and dangerous. There's a reason just about every header manufacturer has a disclaimer saying that if you use header wrap on them, the warranty is VOID.

Your headers will deteriorate quickly if this car sees any amount of street time, guaranteed.

JMHO. If you think it helps, go for it!

im saying during the summer without any header wrap the hheat off of the headers heats up the car and it is miserable.
