Default EGR delete question..?

I've already blocked off the EGR valve and exhaust gas feed pipe. If I remove all the rubber lines from the solenoid and cap off the vacuum feed can I just leave the EGR solenoid connected?

I think he is worried about getting a trouble code (27) if it is removed (which he probably would).

Yes, you can leave the solenoid on there with nothing but the electrical connected to it. The PCM will be happy seeing it there (no code 27), but you might get an operational code later during certain driving conditions (code 32). When you get a retune, you can have that remedied.

X2..remove the Solenoid and cap off that one port. Tuck the wiring up too..unless you plan on clipping it.

He has a 1994..they aren't as bitchy as the OBDII Cars..he may not get a code..

Okat guys thanks. That was my main concern (GETTING A CODE). I think I'll just take it off and cap everything...

Actually I'll leave it on and see if I get a code or not.....

Unplugging the solenoid is more likely to throw a code than not. The PCM looks for the electrical signature of the solenoid (even OBD-I).
