Default Another lid question...

I'm planning on running the lid mod with an electric water pump and an aftermarket SS hood.

Any unusual fitment problems? Is this possible?

Pics if possible please

have you tried a test fit it yet? I have a 4 inch cowl so a little trimming on the underside of the hood and Im fine. Not sure about the SS hood tho, but if people are getting stock hoods to fit i think you have a pretty good shot at it.

Just dont use the plastic Rad cover and you will have a extra 2 inches of clearence.

I was worried about the radiator hitting the electric water pump.

And Merv, every few HP counts

you are describing exactly the setup ive got. I have a CSR water pump. I had to cut the fan shroud quite a bit but it was nothing difficult.

here is my writeup
http://blog.joeldevriendt.com/?p=41

plenty of pictures there, but none that show the trimming i had to do. I think my pump is one of the shallower ones. I can almost say for certain you would run into problems if your pump was a meziere HD.

alright well to answer your question then, if you look at the "rim" of the passenger side fan shroud i had to cut a section of that pretty much completely out. Most people have to trim a bit there for a water pump anyway, but mine never needed it until i laid the radiator back for the lid.

Thanks. Since you got it to fit, I'm more motivated to get it now

I have a Glasstek hood and I run the ls1 radiator support and lid, no cutting to the core support required, just bolt it up like normal and I just cut a little on the underside of the cowl. I dont think a SS hood you can run it without cutting up the radiator support. I have pictures in the link in my sig if you want to go the cowl hood route.
