seriously though, the auto could have either gear out back. I "think" the 3.23 rear gear car has PRND21, but i am not sure. 1993 has a few differences that the 94+ cars. the car is Speeddensity (no MAF), non vented spline drive opti (93-94 use this type), the ECM is a EPROM "chip" computer that makes tuning different that 94+ cars (still obd1 though), and a few other things.
Check out this:

I love my 93. It by far has responded to many minor mods better than other LT1 cars i have worked on. My car has 60K (papmered) miles. 94K is good too, but be aware it is still 17 years old and there will be normal maintance issues. For instance all my rubber pieces were shot when i got the car. I say take the dude somwhwere above 3 grand and see what he says. Is not like the market on these is great right now anyway.
Good Luck!
I am 13.0 - 13.2 with all bolt ons on a decent tire. I am not good a launching a 6 speed. I cant crack a 2.0x 60'. Bolt ons and some spray will get you 12's. I got about 2000 in parts (used and new) tied up in mine for performance and suspension. I have about another 2 grand in "appearance" mods. I paid 7 grand in 2002 when the car was 100% stock and 38K miles.

Im sure im missing some things but thats pretty much what I have + or - a couple of things. my times are in my sig I could be in the 12s with a good launch.
The transmission is a 700r4/4L60 (no e for electronic control)
You can't flash tune the PCM, it has a chip on it which has to be replaced/reprogrammed
You have no MAF, so you have a Speed Density tune, which many tuners will argue is the better way, including a quicker throttle response
Most likely the rear gear is a 2.73. 3.23s were for "performance packages". The only real way to check is the RPO code on the driver's door. IDK the codes, but the Gearing section in this forum will be able to tell you.
Stock, it is a low to mid 14s car.
The weak points are the 10 bolt rear and the 4L60, but for your goals they should hold up. Autos are easier on the rear, thank god.
For the rear, I would upgrade to a 3.73 and a TA girdle.
For the tranny, I would put in a TransGo HD2 shift kit.
A 3200-3500 stall would be good, but not cheap. Expect to pay $500-700 for a quality unit. You don't want to go cheap b/c if it goes, it takes the tranny with it.
And most certainly install a transmission cooler no matter what. When you do, take the radiator "cooler" out of the loop.
Engine and suspension mods listed by 97camaross are good, except I would add a good quality adjustable torque arm from UMI or BMR.
If the Opti needs to be replaced (not uncommon) go vented. Much better design and not difficult to do.
I would look into converting the PCM to a 94-95 style, which is flash reprogrammable. Not sure what is involved, but it is far easier to work with. And expect a mail-order tune to get you into the ballpark, but leave hp sitting on the bench since each car will be a little bit different to tweak.
Best of luck.
