Default Rubbing the bumb stops

I have some 315's on my 17X11's ZR1's and just noticed that upon install once again that the rim and tire are rubbing up against the bumstops brackets. My bumb stops are removed because the rubber was seperating from the actual bracket and now I noticed that the actual nut plate area where the bumb stops mount is touching, although my rear suspension is just hanging fully in the air on some jack stands, Would putting it back on the ground eliminate my problem? I might take that chance of hitting the brackets if I launch hard or something possible, right? Would it be dumb to cut these off? I'm getting some 15X10 race stars here shortly and will be running 325/50R15's. So I would imagine that these tires will be rubbing as well. Should I just heat it up with a torch and then beat them in some or cut them off. Anyone else have this problem and if so what did you all do?

I'm interested too, I asked a while back and never got an answer. I was gonna take a grinder and try to shave the lip off.

I just bought a cutter/grinder that will hook upto my air compressor so I can buzz that **** off allthough I don't want to regret this later. After installing my new bilstiens in the rear I have yet the need for bumb stops! I want some tips or some suggestion to figue this out! How many would cut em out or grind them for the clearance, or should I beat then in! Hell will my problem be alright when I lower the car back to the ground and will it be fine in motion!

You could always put the car on the ground and see...

I think I may do this although I think I may still need to get rid of them for the
325/50R15's

Mine only rub if the rear is suspended and the wheels are hanging. It's a very slight contact but enough to snag the lip of the rim when I jack or lower the car. I will mess with this in the morning and let u guys know if it helped.

mine did the same thing whnever the car was jacked up in the back, once i lowered it to the ground the suspension compressed and left that area where the bump stop is stick out in the barrell of the rim, so it does not rub.. i beat mine in anyways..

Well I grinded away at the bracket a little bit today. Just by looks, I felt like there was going to be much better clearance. And I didn't really remove much in size. Unfortunately, I had little time to check by jacking the rearend up and down cuz the tow truck had to take her off to the shop . I'll check when I get the car back.

I had cut the bump stop tabs back, I installed some poly bump stops that were meant for a jeep, so they had to go. Works fine.

Do you have any pics? I was a little curious as to what poly stops you used etc.

Well I grinded some of the bracket awy, the wheel no longer touch at all even if the wheels are hanging completly down on jack stands, I still have 1/4 gap! I should be fine and I still have the nut plates for some bumb stop if need be!

Mines lowered and the double adj. phb helps with centering the rear so they come no where near the bump stops.

Maybe a double adjustable panhard because I have an adjustable BMR and it just pulls the right side only! I cut some of last night of the bracket and just grinded to where I thought I could get away with still leaving the nut plates and with the tires hanging I have around 1/4 now!, I should be fine but when I get the 325's I'll check it out to make sure no rubbing!

I don't have any pictures. They were energy suspension, if it weren't raining I might have gone out and seen if I could find the part number, it was stamped in them. I used them because someone had a thread here on tech on bump stops. Its what they had used as their part store had them local. Mine didn't but they were a lot cheaper in price than replacing with the part for our cars.
