Question Is this fair?

My original plan was to do all my exhaust mods this summer (Pacesetter LT's , ORY, and hooker catback) but my mom says I need to save up enough to be able to buy another car before I can do any mods. Fair? I appreciate your thoughts. And before your like BAH you have to listen to your mom!!! I'm 16 lol.

Well if you live at the house then I guess you have to listen to her. I had to buy my firebird with my money. Now she does not care what happens to it. Even tho I get to go pick my car up from the shop after it being dead from the date in my sig.

haha, she actually wanted me to get a v8, she said they were better then a v6 (my last firebird was v6). As long as it was an A4. Well, ya, thats what i'm saying, she doesn't want me to put a bunch of money in a car and wreck it. So I'll save up for a car i'll say is reliable thats really a pos and then mod . I make ok money for being 16. I have a sales job in electronics at a SEARS. So hopefully I can make around 6 grand by the time i wanna do my mods. If i don't spend it on bs stuff.

As I've said before, enjoy your life being 16 also. Don't work 24/7

But hey, her house, her rules. My dad made me buy my WS6 while I was 18 as a senior in high school and I was cool with it because they gave me my current 03 Eclipse daily driver and were giving me graduation money and even put it under his name so I wouldn't have to pay a **** ton on insurance. (my driving record isn't too clean )

Stay young and have fun, but don't underestimate your car

Drive safely!

underestimate? i love my car! i just think the exhaust needs a little work. Stock exhaust does have a nice note on our lt1s but i really want to get some pacesetter ceramic coated long tube headers, a Y-pipe (ORY preferably but i would prefer something legal to drive on the street so i dont get **** from cops or my parents), and hooker cat back and a hooker aerochamber muffler. Thats like the perfect set up for me. I'm not looking for huge gains. I wanna break that 300 horsepower barrier im running around 285ish right now, and exhaust upgrade (full) is supposed to yield around 30-35 with a tune.

Where do you live?

I live in Iowa, so emissions are a joke out here.

I was implying don't underestimate it as in don't get too tail happy around the corners. I had a few scary encounters going from a 4 banger Eclipse to a WS6 and acted like a kid in a candy store flooring it around corners when I first got it... Not smart.. lol

Coated Pacesetter LT's, ory, Hooker, Magnaflow, Borla exhaust (I'd say Hooker if you want to stay loud). My personal tastes don't like Borla, but to each is their own

I mean, i don't have to pass emissions in Virginia , in my county anyways. But, isn't it illegal if they look under your car and you don't have a cat?

I hear that. My mom never told me to get a DD but when I was doing mods I wished I had one. It was a pain barrowing cars to get and from work, or bumming rides from people. Now I have a DD and never drive it. Go figure. It is a good idea if you can afford it.

Ok let me clear this up. She doesn't want me to actually buy another car. She wants me to have enough money to buy another car or do an engine or tranny rebuild if my car dies or gets totalled.

Say up $500 for a beater/rainy day and enjoy finishing full exhaust, ewp, suspension, tune, etc. and then enjoy that and decide how much more you want to build it from that point when you get there. Its all a stepping stone. I'm 19, about 20, and am finally finishing full bolt-ons on a car I bought August of 2008. (Granted my tranny went out and I bought a built one with a stall converter)

ewp is an electric water pump. Better for keeping the engine cool. Instead of working better when your RPMs are higher, it stays at a steady speed and keeps it cooler while sitting or at low RPM's.

Suspension depends on what you intend to do with the car. Race, street performance, or just lowered for looks lmao. I personally wont lower my cat because with my long tubes and full exhaust I lose enough ground clearance. Lowering it will make it impossible to drive in some places.

I'm looking for street preformance. I will eventually race it, but it will be street legal.

lol, "street legal" is a VERY flexible word lmao. If it has working lights, seatbelts, etc and good tires it is pretty much street legal lmao.

I have ALOT done to my car and am about to be pushing clost to 450 rwhp and I can still daily drive my car...

You said your area isnt that worried about emmisions and dont test.......nothing to worry about there. Your gonna buy that fake CAT...no worries about someone looking under your car and not seeing one. I have full exhaust and no CAT and I have for over a year and noone has EVER cared. I drove for 2 months with OPEN HEADERS and noone cared. Have you ever heard a car with open headers??!! lol. Dont drive like a maniac in obvious places and your fine.

ALOT of guys on here wil ALOT of mods are still street legal and drive them quite a bit!

Cops dont care if your modified...as long as you drive like a normal person, and the OBVIOUS rules are being followed your fine.
