New 97 z28, needs help. Alright, so I picked up this 30th anniversery z28 for 5k, 70,000 on it. The guy who had it before did a little work on it, as follows:
Professionally ported and builts heads with ARP's, oversized valves, 1.6RR, Rocker Studs, and triple valve springs.
Ported intake
Big, nice sounding cam-GM847 (234@.539/ 242@.558 (1.5RR)----112 LSA)
Double Roller Timing Chain
Delteq ignition (No more opti problems!)
CSI Electric Waterpump
Walboro 255 Fuel Pump
Extra Set of 30lb/hr injectors
10.5" Midwest 3400 Stall Converter
"racing tranny" build to withstand about 700hp
Aftermarket Transmission Cooler--New in Box
Hooker Longtube Headers and SLP Loudmouth CatBack
Factory SS Hood.
3.73 rear end gears.
All I know so far is the intake is knn and it has hooker headers. The jackass who had it last took off the cat and mufflers and put a glasspack on it so I'm almost afraid to drive it around the city because of noise ordnance, so I need a few suggestions for a decent set of mufflers and cat. It looks like the car isn't traditional dual exhaust, its a straight pipe that splits halfway through.
I'd like suggestions to get the most I can out of this car. I have no idea what its running right now, I'm guessing arond 400hp. Any suggestions to bring that up and quiet it down are appreciated, I don't really have a budget.
It's an automatic, I'd like to convert it to 6 speed manual, and I'm just curious about how hard an ls1 swap would be for this car.
Ideas, thoughts, suggestions all appreciated.
