Miss Fire help..

L99 Miss fire
changed bad injectors
Chaged opti with used MSD
car runs worse
Cap/rotor/sensor OMFG HELP?
how to reset the timing on MSD opti
I am trying to help a friend out by working on his 95 L99 caprice. Its got a miss fire. I tracked it down to a cracked plug, and a bad injector (would not pulse). We changed the injectors and the cracked plug, and it ran fine. Until it rained. Having had the same problem on my 96 LT1 I deduced it was the opti. Well tonight I changed the opti, plug wires and deleted the smog pump. Needless to say, it now runs worse.
I have yet to drive the car since I have work at 5 and sent him on his way but the owner says its worse than ever. The opti is a MSD and is used. I opened it up to check everything out and it all looks mint except a small amount of oil inside. Which I cleaned out and then sealed with a thick bead of Black RTV.
I like to consider my self well versed in LT1 problems but I can only think that the MSD opti is bad. Is there anyway that I can test it with out pulling it all apart again. AI would like to rule out at least the sensor and pray that its the cap and rotor. Also how do you set the timing back to stock/factory/no advance on the MSD opti. I am hoping that its just too far advanced.
Thanks for any input. I am charging $20 per hr and want to cut my warranty repair time to a minimum.
Thanks again.
