Default Need help please!!!!!

I just bought a 95 formula that was broke down from a buddy. The symptoms were....the car got hot then ran like crap. He let it sit overnight then came back to get it and It started up and ran fine. He drove it for a while til it did it again...same thing let it sit overnight went back started it up and drove it home. He went to drive it the next day and it wouldn't start and hasnt started since. I figured out the waterpump was leaking causing it to lose water and get hot. It was leaking right on the opti so I assumed it made it go out so I replaced the waterpump and opti. It is still doing the exact same thing and not starting! I tried checking injector pulse with a test light and am not getting a reading. The coil is fireing. Getting spark at the plugs. What could it be? Any help is appreciated.

you need noid lights to check for injector pulse, you can however check to see if they are getting power with a test light, the computer controls the ground so you should have constant on one side

I checked it with noid light and nothing.....

How do you scan the 95? It is obd1 with obd2 connector

I know that the local checker here has the obd1 and 2 scanner that i use all the time. I would try there is the engine light on?

new opti, plugs and wires....getting fire to plug just no injector pulse....

Hows your fuel pressure might be your fuel pump same type of thing happened in my sisters mustang the solenoid on the fuel pump was heating up and shorting out

did you verify that you are getting power to your injectors, like I said earlier you should have 12v switched going to one side of all of your injectors if you don't have power it could be as simple as a blown fuse

Yes Definitely check that before going to the fuel pump. But if it was a blown fuse would it still work when its cold and then run crappy when its hot? Could also be a fuel filter as well

he needs to find out why his injectors aren't pulsing before he can troubleshoot anything else

have power going to injectors. Checked fuel pressure and its where it should be.

ok so the pcm isn't pulsing them, I would start by checking the pcm ground on the side of the block. It is kind of weird thought that you would be getting an ignition signal back out of the pcm but no injector pulse. I would also check the harness for the opti and the icm.

I was thinking the symptoms sounded like the icm but I didnt think it controls the injector pulse.

Just a thought Did you check the battery? My car did not wait to start eather. Fuel pump primed and every thing. Engine evern turned over. I just had a bad turminal. Battery was not fully charged.
