Default Round 1 of build

For my first round of building my 96 rag top I'm going to do the following.
Jet het long tube headers
Get rid of all emmissions stuff and cats
and computer retune

Also thinking of 52 mm throttle body but not sure if it is worth it?? Currently the car has 3:73 gears, cold air intake and computer tune. And next year hopping to do cam and stall. What's everyones thought on this??

Thanks
Jason

you really could have done a search because this was asked a couple weeks ago, but i went 11.53 @ 120mph with the stock throttle body in a heads/cam car. you dont need a 52mm at all for a bolt on car

I did the same stuff. I went with 52mm TB, lt headers, got rid of air and egr crap, ORY, built trans and a stall, cat back, and CAI. 52m did give better throtle response but I don't think they make power. Could have been that my stock tb was nasty as hell too but looks like a good start. Before you do the cam and make power, you might want to do trans and stall. then cam and what ever followed by killing the 10bolt.

wait to do the tb unless you find a great deal on one. Put your money elsewhere

Saying that the car won't gain much from a mod, or that the small gain is not worth the money is one thing, but I'll never understand the argument that "my car went X fast on the stock whatever, so you shouldn't replace it". People have gone 10's with 2.73's, but those would be the first thing I'd change on a stock car. Just saying.
