lt1 shortblock and pulleys 3 questions if i order a shortblock is there a diffrence in blocks by years were stuff of my 95 wont work or is it all inerchangeable?
if i go eletric water pump do i remove the gear from the block?
by removing ac and power sterring whats the best alt relocating kit?

1st, the blocks are the same....only real difference is in the LT4 which has 4 bolt main caps. Aside from that, it's all in the timing chain, front cover and intake manifold......all of which can be changed from your current engine. Chances are it'll come with a later model timing set anyway as most people convert to the 95-97 vented opti.....so you should be fine on any short block you order, just check with the builder on the timing set.
2nd, yes remove the gear behind the top gear of the timing set and then remove the water pump drive gear and plug the hole in the front cover and water pump.
3rd, it's matter of preference. I like Speed Inc's kit, but it's pricey. It can be duplicated for cheaper if you have some fabrication skills. Do a search as there are plenty of threads that have been put up by many different people....and every one is a little different.
