Did you have your motor mounts replaced? If not, changing them to the poly mounts should help with your y pipe clearance.

you got ripped off paying 1100 in labor, your mechanic is an idiot for telling you to run solid motor mounts, and if the **** worked before you brought it to him then take it to him to fix it for free. you DID pay 1100 in labor.

Holy ****..$1100..

I would take it back to him, make him fix everything, detail it, wax it, and somewhere in there you should get a BJ..

Sounds like one of the wires is crossed or he didn't hook something back up correctly.

I hate people that charge an arm n a leg for simple stuff on these cars. Where abouts are you in upstate NY? I'm originally from there..

That's a helluva sentence. I never priced a header and exhaust install, but 1100 sounds like a lot. I wonder if that guy is hiring.

No shop would install headers on a 4th gen f body for $130... unless the motor was sitting infront of them, and they didnt have to put it back in. hah. They will change their quote when they see it im sure.

The collector could be in contact with the transmission cross brace. If that is the case then you can grind the cross brace enough to clear. As far as the oil light it's either disconnected or was carelessly routed and the wires could be burnt. Not sure about security light, but wouldn't doubt wires there are burnt as well. You need to carefully look at your header primaries and collectors to see if there are any wires touching and examine them. No wire should touch any part of the exhaust.

Those cheap quotes involve a lift and a sawzaw, they just cut the pipes, cats what ever out of the way to gain room to get to the old crap and they keep the cats and pipe. They can have the old **** out in about 20 to 30 min . Headers back in in 30min with no egr hook ups, no cats and all you supply all the pre bent pipes and clamps. headers with egr would be more. It is a fun project for a mechanic. But you have to have ALL of the parts you need to install them. if your missing clamps or O2 extensions or bolts the price will go up very fast as they charge you for lift time untill they find the parts. And if you have a canton or moroso oil pan it will be about 5 times that amount.

i just got my headers put on PS long tubes and ory, and i guarantee you no shop is going to do it for 150. OP: you def got ripped off if you paid $1100 to install headers, and your having problems. you should take it back and have him fix all the issues your having for free and if you have any issues in the future he should fix it for free as well.
