How do you clean a MAF

CRC MAF Cleaner, sold at most auto parts stores. Simply spray to remove any build-up of residue.
I always turn the MAF upside down to prevent any fluid from entering the electronics.
My thinking is I prefer to use the product that was specifically designed for the purpose. So, I ask myself, why would I use a product designed for brakes or designed for carburetors to clean my MAF? Especially when there's a specifc product for MAF cleaning.
Just my view.
