Default motor issues update:

started a month ago. i was getting on it on an on ramp and the car started acting up. i found #5 plug wire burnt/cracked/arching and #7 wire not connected to the spark plug........

this past week/today: my roommate said it sounded better when it fired up for the first time today since it was first went up on jack stands.. it ran smoooother but still idled really really low.. the amp/battery gauge didn't get out of the yellow area... i turned it off, waited and tried to start it again and wouldn't fire up.... had the roomy get behind the wheel, he turned the key for the fuel pump to turn on and i was under the hood, plenty of fuel pressure i would think since the fuel shot out pretty strong. 2nd attempt, i turned the key and as it was cranking i pumped the gas pedal... it started up and i held it at about 12-1300rpm's. (smoooooother'is .. boost gauge was at about 10 in VAC w/needle vibration)... i let off the gas and it dropped down to about 500rpms rough'ish idle... gave it some gas and held it back at about 1k....... no check engine light or any other indicators, sounded better no knocking.............?

installed items: new opti, new plugs and wires, new water pump, new alternator, new belt, new battery....... fuel filter was replaced oct/nov'09 .. opti installed correctly/ plug to plug wires to opti quadruple checked.....

......????

That doesn't mean anything.

Go rent a fuel pressure gauge or buy one from harbor freight or autozone and test the fuel pressure with the key on, while cranking, and while on.

Also check all your vacuum lines.

OEM Opti or aftermarket?

Did you put a fuel pressure gauge on it to check what the pressure really is? The pump could be going out

i haven't gotten there yet to check.. today i tried to change out the o2 sensors,.. got the driver side with no problem but the pass.side might require the removal of the eff'ing manifold.... to much frustration going on with the 'X'amount of $$$ thrown into a bottomless pit.... i need a few weeks - 2/3months off from working on this money hungry bich... dang i'm glad i'm single with out any kids... i'm just overly frustrated right now with the car

O2's won't solve your idling/starting issue. When the car starts up, it runs in open loop - won't be taking a reading from the O2's. It still isn't a bad idea to do, but if your complaining about money rather focus on fixing the starting and idling issue.

As everyone else has stated, definitely get a good fuel pressure reading beofre you proceed with anything else...

Look if you don't want to take the advice posted here and just run around throwing random parts at your car, don't keep bumping the thread and wasting people's time.

People here spend their time reading and replying to posts, alot of us have been around these cars/motors for a long time. So its an insult to us to spend our time trying to help you and then seeing you just keep complaining without actually trying any of the suggestions.

Did it just die on its own in the video? Your car is heavily modded so it adds alot more complication to the diagnosis. Hopefully its just the fuel pressure though and you can replace the pump and be done with it.

I dunno but that motor sounds like its knockin to me. I dont remember it sounding like that b4?? Also how did you not notice the wire was off the plug? If it was like that for a while there is a good chance you washed out the rings and the motor may need a rebuild. Id do a compression test also.

Gotta love cheap ***, SELF ALIGNING rockers on a high HP turbo car...

I would be pulling the head to see how bad it fucked up the piston, valve and head. And toss those "engine performance warehouse" rockers and get some decent ones.

what springs are them?how many miles? what was the spring height installed an the coil bind? that was def do from the spring,, spring broke then compressed an then rocker smacking the retain bounced the keepers out after some time and then the retainer came off once as the valve droped enough and then the valve kissed the piston and jamed the retainer into the rocker which then caused the push rod to bend..thats my guess of how it went or along them lines.
