Guys say they have gotten the oil pan off in the car. You have to disconect the engine mount and lift the engine up a tad and I saw last week that a guy was changing to a canton pan and not taking the engine out, just lifting it abit in the car. How you lift it is another story. Some use an engine lift and lifting plate while others use a jack and block of wood or jack stand. Front cover sucks because you have to take the water pump, opti and hub off. If you take the pan out of the car or even try to drop it down remember the oil level sensor goes into the pan above the oil pickup tube so take the sensor out before you try to take the pan out or drop it down. Check the pickup tube while your in there to make sure it is tight and not moving.

i have removed the oil pan from the motor with it in the car. all we did was remove the bolt for the pass side motor mount and jacked it up to get it out. had to install a bung for an oil return line. went right back in the same way. just have a lot of brake cleaner handy to clean off all the oil thats gonna be dripping from inside the motor as it can get on your new gasket and cause a leak.

btw, i really hate when people wanna bring in bad information that dont know what the hell they are talking about, making things harder on those doing the work.

Well i got it Figured out. Last Ngiht I Dropped The Pan and Pulled the Front Cover off and Noticed that the Driveshaft for the Opti was In the Wrong Spot so that was my problem all along. Thank god i figured it out.

all I did was unbolt the Pan and Let it just Swing down and it was enough to get the Front Cover off.
