No mis-firing - its more likely that you have a fueling, breathing or timing issue that a bad opti or wires - both of those will usually cause an actual, perceptible skip, rather than a fade in power. Heavy knock retard can be noticable like that, but so can leaning out on weak fuel delivery. Weak fuel is real noticable on quick throttle tip ins (stabbing the gas) and at high rpm where fuel demand is up. Heck, leaning out usually causes knock, timing is pulled, so you really feel it. I'd fuel pressure first, and if that checks out you might want to try a scan tool to see if you can identify whats going on.

The car is actually running rich, had a buddy driving behind me recently when I went WOT and he mentioned he could smell the fuel ... lol. But I will check the fuel pressure.
