Help please ODD problem, car dying....
My car will run fine if the outside temperature is below 60 degrees, it will run fine for about 20 minutes then it will throw the P0300 code and die. It can set for about two minutes refire and run fine for about 45 seconds then die again. It's just as if it has ran smack out of gas but it is getting plenty of fuel, losing all fire it would appear. It will run fine on my way to work 60 miles of the morning, on the way home in the afternoon is the only time it acts up and has been consistent. It has a new coil, just replaced it. I have also tried running it in open loop which made no difference. Open to any and all suggestions.
Car is a 97 Z M6 car, headers and bolt on stuff only.
Thanks in advance.
Best of luck,
Chris
Mine had been acting up for about a week and one morning I got in my car to go to work, 1/4 mile down the road the car completely shut off, that's the amount of heat it took to give my ICM one last breath at least.
Parts stores' "load testing" on the ICM isn't as accurate as your car's electronics, the local stores didn't even know what an ICM was, OR how to test one...
