What is dewck height. IT made me think of dukie, like poop.lol Is there anything wrong with your block? Usually they deck the block with that much work being performed.

you need to balance compression ratio, and quench distance to figure out your deck height. With chambers that small I am not sure if you are going to be able to get your quench where it should be and still have the compression ration you are looking for with those pistons. .040 is about where you want your quench for a street motor. Usually this is achieved by zero decking the block and using a .039 compressed thickness head gasket. Your situation is different because of the stroke but for example I had to use a -16cc inverted dome piston to get 11.1 compression and a .044 quench on a 383 with 6 inch rods. Like I said you might be able to get away with that piston due to the stroke but you are going to have to crunch the numbers

nevermind, I just found a calculator online so it looks like you could either zero deck it and use a .039 head gasket or if you would like to leave some meat on the deck for future repair/mods than I would deck it to .015 and use the .026 Mr. Gasket 5716 head gaskets and that will get you right at 11.1:1

That piston was actually made for 3.5 stroke or 3.48 stroke. by using the stock crank at 9" deck height you will be ten thou. in the hole

The answer in NO you do not need to deck the block if its not damaged. Lloyd will tell you exactly what need to do or what will and wont work.
I have my heads milled .030, MR G 5716 .029 head gaskets and the block was just cleaned up and NOT decked. Pistons sit in the hole about .010-.012
