good oil pan with baffle
I used a canton on my last 388 lt4 buildup. horrible pan it leaked everywhere but still did the job. for the price it can't be beat. Using a Jeff Johnson Billet Fab pan for my new 8000 lt4 buildup but needed a custom pan to fit the custom Titan Gerotor billet oil pump. It's a $200 vs $750 comparison though.
get the moroso 7qt pan street strip..it will be on summit but wont come up when searching for a lt1..it will be the one that has a pass side dip stick..the canton one listed for lt1s is not a street strip style pan it is a road n track pan an is only 5qts if i remember right...i also say get a full crank scrapper,full windage tray and then a summit pick up will work fine when you get the pan..it will be like 250 for it all with shipping..

I have the canton 242T, 8k hard road mileage and the only leak has been from the drain plug, which I am fixing when it comes out of storage. You have to make sure you have the right gasket, and a one piece gasket from felpro is the best.

at home i do..but im out of state now on vaction..the street strip pans dont come with full windage trays or scrapers...the race pans do an there like 350-400..when you find the pan..just go into other recomended parts an the tray should come up..then just run crank scraper in a search an grab the sbc one.....do a search for oil dip stick for just this section an there was a guy about a week or so ago asking about it an says the part number in it..

With a moroso you have to use an oil pump witha 5/8ths pickup port and you have to use moroso's pick up, they make 2 and they only fit a couple of pumps. Look on thier web site for the info. Then you have to set up the moroso pick up to the right hight. If you run LPP long tubes the oil level sensor has to be pluged due to the fact they lay on the sensor.
I sure Can. It didnt leak at the gasket. it leaked in about 4 places all from the welds. Very very **** poor quality. the rails were flattened etc no leaks from the gasket. Even used a custom clamp style clip bolted to the side of the block to make sure it didnt leak at the dipstick.

I'm sure it could have been a manufacturing error in your case, but the welds on my canton pan are some amazing quality welds, just like my canton VCs.
Can't beat them for the price IMO.
