Intake Bolt Torque Specs???

Default Intake Bolt Torque Specs???

Can someone please give me the correct torque specs for LT1 intake bolts? I found 71lbs somewhere online but I dont think thats right being I broke the 3rd one I went to tighten off in the head!!!

2 stages tq in

1st 18 ft lbs
2nd 35 ft lbs

71 ft/lbs. sounds more like head bolts to me.

Yeah I knew it was A LOT but I checked 3 times and thats what it said. I should have used common sense and knew that was too much.

I got the broken bolt out easy thank the Lord....now i just need to find one or a set to replace it! Any suggestions???

It's 71 INCH pounds for the first pass. Whatever you saw was mistyped or misread.

^^ does it really matter the sequence in which the bolts are tightened? I just put my intake on last weekend and I just started tightening all of them, obviously I checked and rechecked to make sure everything was tight but I didn't think that it would be a huge deal on the sequence.

Should I re-do it?

Yes, it can matter alot. Were it me, I'd loosen it all up and start over. The sequence does a couple of things. It keeps you from cracking the intake from stress due to torqueing the manifold with a front to rear twist. It also ensures that the gaskets seal properly.

If you just tightened them any which way, I'd completely remove the manifold and start over with new gaskets and RTV, but that's me.

If you look real close to that 71 number online you will notice that it is 71 INCH lbs and not FTLBS. lol made that mistake already.
