2 Part LT4 Knock Sensor Module Question

Its getting harder to find and prices are ridiculous...

1. Who makes the actual sensor? AC Delco?

2. Is it truly needed? I have seen people saying yes and no, there is no definitive answer. Would a tune accomplish same thing or be a little less effective?

A good tuner can desensitize the stock one. Your choice really.

All OEM electronics are made by ACD.

It's only needed if you have verified you are getting false knock.

I recently noticed that I was getting lots of random KR mostly at NON WOT conditions. Even more so with the LT4 KM.

I found that I had a significant header gasket blowout right under the 4/6 exhaust primaries which is right above the knock sensor. I had the loud ticking sound associated with gasket leak.

Could this have been setting off my knock sensor and causing all this random KR?
