OKay, car got fried yesterday.... wont even turn starter engages but motor will not turn and we just put a new starter on it..tow truck driver thinks it seized..=(

btw that scratch on the back bumper was from gettting hit this week, the car was suppose to go to the body shop monday..but now i don't know..=(

If i were you, i would scrap the car. put a used motor for $500 in it, sell it for what you can and buy something nicer like a used '06 GTO. they can be had with under 30k miles for 15-16 grand

I would be trying to look into it further before scrappin it. I would be looking at teeth on flywheel/flexplate, along with checking starter. I would hand crank motor to ensure free movement.

did you atleast pull the plugs and put a wrench on the balancer and try to turn it over by hand?

So you just assumed it seized up without checking anything else? Probably not even the most likely thing in this case.

always check that first. its kinda odd for an engine to just seize.
do you have any beefs with anyone that would have loosened you oil drail plug?

**** you can get a used engine for like 400$ thats a lt1..i can get sbc 350s for 100-400 all day,but thats if you wanted to convert to a carb deal..you could also just grab a 454 and drop it in there..

So, i had to get a new computer and new ignition and basically had to rewire the whole car...i have no idea what happened, but i had it at the gm the day before and then somehow my system got fried, so i took it in and they said it's gunna be like 3000 grand i was like **** that so they just told me what was wrong and i took it home and my dad and i rewired 60 percent of the car but we used the stock locations, but yeah the tow truck drivers a jackass he pulled my car on the bed and dragged my exhaust..=( like a **** head..

As a former tow truck driver, don't blame him. These cars are notoriously large headaches to tow. If you don't hit the front end on the bed, the exhaust drags. And that's with cars at stock heights, so if you're lowered it's worse. Most guys try to do what they can and cause as little damage as possible if it's preventable. Don't be so fast to judge.....he's just trying to make money, which is more than can be said for some people in this world.

Sorry for the rant, but I did it for the past 5 years and had plenty of people say I trashed their cars, but the guys with $500K cars did nothing but give me huge tips and praise.....
