Crank Hub Removal?
I got the pulley off but having an issue getting the hub off. I'm using a 4 ear puller and as I tighten the puller, the hub won't start to slide off. Is there anything else else holding it on besides the bolt in the center of the hub and crank?

Just know there is absolutely no reason you need to put the crank hub in the same position it came off. It is not a balancer. it has no heavy side. If your engine is stock then it is internally balanced in the front and externally in the rear via flywheel/flexplate.

i agree, i made my own little crank hub puller for like $10, used a smaller bolt that just sat inside against the crank so the puller could push on the head of the bolt and it came off pretty smoothly.

Some will and some are a major pain in the dick to get off. It can also depend on when the last time it was removed, if ever. Using a stock bolt just really isn't a good idea when you can get a far stronger bolt for extremely cheap.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty much doing exactly what's in the write up posted. I think mines just tight from some rust. I'll take the heat wrench to it to expand the metal some.

I got the hub off. I noticed that there's a keyway in the crank but there was no key there or a spot in the hub for it. Is this normal? Just seems odd to not have a key there to hold the hub and pulley in place.
