Default Help with LT1 build?

Okay so i am hopefully going to pick up a roller tomorrow that comes with a t56 and the body for $2,000. The last thing i need is an engine. I'm trying to spend around 500 on an engine but not sure on what engine to get and where to get it. I was hoping to get a fully assembled LT1 engine that would be ready to drop in but have no clue where to find one? Could anyone give me advice on what engine i should get and where i could get one?

500 on a complete drop in engine?? Your only hope is a worn out junk yard engine.

I've had numerous friends get perfectly good engines for 500 dollars. I have seen complete LT1 engines for 500 on craigslist with under 100k miles. I'm simply asking if that would be the best decision or if there is a different motor. Like a 5.3 out of a truck or something..

I found a motor but i am not positive if it would work with a t56. Its a 5.3 from a truck but someone said that the t56 might not work as the 5.3 is usually a 5 speed instead of 6? Can anyone help with that?
