Electric Water pump install??
Electric Water pump install?? My water pump went out on me yesterday so I figured I'd put in an electric one.. is that a good decision?
I found one locally, its a Summit racing one thats already on the stock housing.
BUT, I really dont know what I'm getting in to. I've done plenty of water pumps but never on my LT1 car.
I work at a car audio shop so I'm confident I can wire it, but what exactly is there to wire? Anything crazy as far as bolting it up?

I am currently running the same water pump from summit in my daily driver with no problems, they're direct bolt in. All there is to wire is a positive wire with a fuse block, and a negative wire. Mine is wired into my accessories, so when I'm at the track, I can turn my key on, and get the motor cooler in between runs. As for installation, it's pretty easy and straight forward if you take your time and be extra careful not to leak antifreeze on your opti.
gotcha.. just got home with the water pump.
I'm starting now and its 11:40pm. Hopefully I'll be on my way to the beach by noon tomorrow haha.
I was told to use a freeze plug or something to fill the hole in the block where that shaft used to be..? Is that a good solution? I haven't even seen that part yet.
