My car passed smog legally with the CC305. No worries at all.

I ran the CC305 in my 383 for 10+ years and passed the sniffer test here in Texas every year with flying colors. Switched it up last year to a custom grind and I'm still out of inspection -

It's a good cam and made to pass emissions. You should be fine.

Not sure about the 1.7's. What spring r u running and are you sure it will handle that much lift? Don't think the lift will affect the emission status of the cam as that will come with the duration and lsa.

im running the pac 1218 good for .600 lift. the cc305 comes in two lsa a 112 and 114 I think I will get the 114 because it will have a smoother idel(sleeper), better low end and I think it will help it pass smog.

You should be able to pass emissions, but I don't know how strict CA emission standards are...not sure how forced induction will affect emissions either, maybe someone else can answer that.

My 385 with a CC305 passes with ease...and this is with a ported LT4 intake, ported Canfield heads, 1.6RR's, long tube headers, highflow cats, etc etc.

You're going to be pushing it with 1.7's IMO. What is your installed height?

BTW - Why are you going with 1.7's as you really won't see that if any over the 1.6's esp with the lift on that cam?

well the way I see it is the more lift the better. 510 /1.5=340 340x1.6= 544 340x 1.7= 578 if my math is right. wouldn't that make more power?

Talk to Lloyd Elliot as he would be the best reference, but I don't think the 1.7's are going to yeild you that much. How is your PTV clearance?

no prob with the 1.7's amnd CC 305 cam passing emissions.

It will barely effect the overlap at all and should easily pass. If it doesn't pass, you have something else wronga nd the cam is not the culprit.
