Default new plugs and gears?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if an acdelco rapidfire is a good plug. I have bolt ons and a mailorder tune. The car will not idle right when its cold, its so bad it sounds cammed, could be the tune though, iv got tr55 or tr6's i cant remember, its the warmer of the two. I just want to try a different plug.

Also, i found a set of used factory 3.73's for 70 bucks. Can i use my old bearings? theyr not making any noise and i just want to do his cheap. What all will i need? I need a new posi someday but we just found out my wife is prego so i jut wanna get this done before im broke lol.

TR 55s usually work good for bolt on car...3.73s is not a bad choice but don't go cheap on the rear with a m6 ,check everything out in there or your 10 bolt might expire.

TR55 is the hotter plug- heat range 5. TR6 is one step colder-6. TR55s are gapped at .055 and need to be adjusted to .050, especially on a stock compression car prior to installation. Too much gap is a problem. You might try pulling an easy one like #1 and see what the gap is set at. No reason to go to a colder plug with a smaller gap like around .045 unless you've gotten to around 11.1:1 or higher with your mods and/or running a mild forced induction or mild nitrous shot, i.e. 75-100. Stay away from 'fancy' plugs. They're just expensive. NGKs are $2 each and work great.

Rear gear & bearings I haven't touched on my car yet so can't offer any experience with reusing the bearings with a gear swap on a factory 10 bolt...

Yeah mine are at .050. I think its just the warm up settings in my madz28 tune are ****. once its warm it idles fine. I am a manager at autozone and my boss is gunna help me with the gears, but what i want to know is will i see a good gain with the gears? I'm guessing i will because they will keep me higher in the rpm's, i know i have the stock cam though so i don't know if it will make a huge difference, they will compliment my cc503 more when i can afford to do it right?

whenever you can get a better machanical advantage to get the car up and moving you are taking a step in the right direction. As far as reusing the bearings I would take a real good look at your carrier bearings and races for any obvious signs of wear. The pinion bearings depend on the removal process as they need to be pressed off of the pinion regardless to retrieve the stock shim which is usually a pretty good starting point for pinion depth. Personally I would replace the pinion bearings at a minimum and the carrier bearings would have to be in amazing shape to not get replaced as well. Bearings are cheap, gearsets and differentials are not...it only makes sense.

i did 3.73's in my car, however i have a peformabuilt trans thats automatic, still saw a huge difference, also for me the tr55's made my car run like absolute ****, that might just be my setup, but it ran so bad, as soon as i put in regular ac delco platinum plugs it runs like a beast, good luck with the gears

Bearings are cheap, might as well replace them. There's a 50/50 chance of your rear end holding up for 100k miles or self detonating within a few miles if you don't throw new bearings in there.

Youre gonna need a new pinion seal, cover gasket, and shims to do the job, might as well get the bearings too.
