Default borla exhaust ???

Hey guys quick question, I bought my borla catback from a member on ltxtech and he didnt have the plates that go in the system. Im wondering does anyone know if these are something that can be bought through borla or am i just kinda stuck with the wide open exhaust, which i dont really mind.

Another question, will having the one side wide open just running through the cat cause me to possibly not pass the sniffer test? I dunno if that will effect anything. thanks guys

For a nice price too I might add. They want to charge me $216 for the piece w/ the flange, that bolts up between the other flange and the exhaust tip. As far as the plates go you can just make some out of 1/16 plate. Block off, 1/4 open, 1/2 open, 3/4 open, ect... you the picture. This what I did when I bought mine from a local lstech user for $100 w/o tips and plates.

I wouldn't spend the money unless the loudness bothers you. Then again, i've seen dyno sheets that support the claim that the plates do nothing but change the sound (no power gain/decrease)

Im running a QTP e-cutout in my Borla and works flawless! I highly suggest anyone with a Borla that still wants the adjustability factor to get a e-cutout. My neighbours hate me so rather then get the complaints i keep it closed in the neighbourhood and flip the switch once im out cruisin!

doesn't this change the length of that tip then for the width of the cutout? Are you able to get the exhaust to even out from a depth perspective on both sides?

Borla sucks if trying to get placement parts. Don't waste you time with them. Make your own plates.

yeah sound doesnt bother me, its actually not loud enough for me but i still dont have headers so im sure that will change. Im just wondering if it being wide open will effect my emissions on the sniffer test thats all.

The passenger side tip on my borla is adjustable so i was able to adjust it to same length as the drivers side. In all honesty you could barely tell the tip was a different length unless you were really looking at it. It didnt bother me and just adjusted it after awhile cause i was bored one day and had the time to do it. When having it closed it sounds very tame and when you open it up its sounds awesome! So best of both worlds at the flip of a switch.

Headers won't make the car louder unless you also remove the cats in my experience (I have had longtubes and shorties with the borla exhaust you have. Now I have custom true dual exhaust with borla parts...)
