Default oil pressure

Ok, My oil pressure is normally around 20psi after about 4 or 5 min after start up, so comes time i changed my oil, now my oil pressure will sit at about 40psi and doesn't come down until i come to a stop. I mean before usually when driving at 65 around 1500rpms it would be a little over 20psi, now it sits on 40psi. Whats up with this?

The electrical senders and gage are hardly ever right. Stick a mechanical on it and put it throught the paces and see what pressure you really have.

And while you're at it, replace the OPSU.

I have been trying to get a OPSU that works right. Sometimes mine will stick at various places and not respond to the blip of the gas. Mine normally sits on about 20# at idle, but I have seen it stuck on 40# too. Damn things are just wierd like that.

I have tried different units from different retailers and they all do it. I really dont think it the guage or wiring. I also have a mechanical guage to ensure thing are spot on whuch they are. I have been wondering if my white spring making bigger cold pressure (around 80#) might be frigging them up.

I have been wondering if there is an aftermarket OPSU that might be more reliable. Anyone know?

from what I understand even though its a odb2 car, the computers are still slower then the 99+ my tuner was telling me the difference between the 98 ls1 and the 99+ is very noticeable. You could try putting the sender in a difference location, like where the 93s have them. I'd like to get my factory gauge on track aswell but I don't have high hopes.
