Default Question about the 3 optispark bolts

Im in the process of an opti change, and I found that when i took the old accel opti off it was only being held on by the top to bolts and the bottom one down by the #2 spark plug outlet wasnt there. So I went out and bought another that matched the top two and I went to put it in and it went in, but didnt catch, and its almost like it was spring loaded and came out about a 1/2 inch, so I opted to use one of the top two i pulled out and they did the same thing. What im wondering is if the bottom bolt is longer than the others, anyone know?

They are all the same length. Sounds like the threads are mucked up.

^^^ ditto

retap the threads for lower bolt...you really want all 3 holding it on.

That was my next question is what are the consequences of only having two? Because anyone who has seen my forum posts of the car shutting off in heat knows my situation. So far the plug going to my opti was mangled, the top corner of the cavity was cracked off and only 3 of the 4 plugs were contacting, idk how the car even ran with that, and the fact of it being an accel. Then i found that only two of the three bolts existed. I ordered the new harness and it came in and all is well there. The whoile things a mess

Oh, I did put the tape on the threads that you use for plumbing pipe, the white rubberish tape? The two went in fine with it, maybe that ones not liking it. Didnt really try it, got late and i was getting tired

Well I ended up re-tapping the timing cover and putting a shorter bolt in just to snug it. Because there was a broken bolt in there, and idk if I ever could've got to it
