Here is an odd idea: I remember reading on an auto cross forum where one person put a little lip on the back of the hood where it meets the cowl with the wind shield wipers. IIRC this creates a negative pressure zone behind the lip, letting air under the hood that was rushing past the radiator to flow over the engine and escape more easily. That might get the air circulating in and out of the engine bay.

Hmmm, might have to do some more research on this

Removing the seal from the cowl to the hood will allow more engine heat into the passenger compartment. The intakes for the HVAC system is right there at the base of the windshield. the heat from the engine will escape the engine compartment, but make you hotter than hell.
