Comp lifters actually have a suprisingly GOOD track record both hydraulic and mechanical, considering a lot of their other stuff sucks.

I dunno just need to filter the regurgitated internet bullshit with some real info...
Yet pac was making the 918's when they had a ton of failures in the early 2000's. Every spring manufacturer is going to put out a bad batch of springs every now and then. Not to mention the new comp 918's are superior to the pac 1218's in spring pressure and spring rate now.

Dont listen to all the bad talk about the cc306. Its acutely a really good cam. Call Lloyd Elliot he has some of the best prices on valve springs.. and i wouldnt use the stock pushrods on any kind of proformance build, enless you want to have some major problems. I recomend some trickflow pushrods. you dont want to use a pushrod with a press on ends you want a "GOOD" one pice pushrod..

no hecho en mexico **** goes in my car, do what you want. the string of failures 9 years ago didn't compare to the "ton" of failures they had when they switched to associated. What makes you NEED more spring pressure? I run over .380 lobe lift with a steel 11/32" valve and 340# open, but I guess I'm not doing it right unless I run the latest and greatest patriot or prc spring kit they come out with at 430+lbs/in.

From what I remember it was worse than when they switched to associated. That was the whole reason for the blue stripes on the 918's. For the record I have pac 1220's on my car, but I think its stupid to bash comp when the exact same thing happened with PAC awhile ago.
