Are you just picking whichever bolt to tighten and then tightening it?You should start from the center and work toward the outside. For example cylinders 3 then 5 then the insides of 1 and 7 then the outers get some 1406's and only re tighten after the engine has cooled down all the way like many hours later

Warped flanges will cause the gasket to burn out. It seems you might not be aware of that.

As for the flange ....i highly doubt it is warped..My lpp header flanges are about a half inch thick

The guy that built my motor told me to double up on stock manifold gaskets..anyone heard of this??

I don't get it it takes 2 mins to check if the flanges are warped or not. Just check them when you replace the gaskets, so you make sure you've checked all your basis.

As stated above tighten the bolts from the center and wor your way to the outside.

There was a guy on camaroz28 who had a warped pacesetter header flange. I bet those are at least as thick as your LPPs, if not thicker.

At some point you're going to have to check or just live with having header leaks. Aren't you sick of changing gaskets?

im telling you guys lol........remflex.....even if they are warped a bit it wont matter check them out!!!! lol.......as for mine the reason i was blowing gaskets is because of a massive amount of backpressure........i've got a 14:1 CR 385 with 4 mufflers and a Y Pipe on the street to keep it quiet....thats why I was blowing gaskets.....it would be fine untill I wound it out in 3rd gear and got it revving then it would pop the gasket. These remflex's seal perfectly and strongly and will make up for a warped header flange.....(to a point of course).....check em out!!!
been there done that got the t-shirt lol.....

If you are absolutely positive your flanges are not warped then they are not being torqued enough or properly onto the head. Get rid of the locking bolts. They are crap. As stated, get 6 or 12 point ARP 3/8X1" bolts along with the 1406 gasket. You will have far more access to torque the header flanges correctly than you ever would with locking bolts.

Yup, Before I re-installed my PS LT'S I checked them (I never checked them the first time I put them on) and they had some small high spots. A couple mins with a file at an angle and everything was good to go. better to be safe then sorry.

The gaskets quick95 are talking about sound cool.

oh and as for the bolts i've been using the percys split lock bolts..............def worth it IMO........my old ones would vibrate out even if they were torqued.......these things and the remflex's have been on there for about 4 months now wit no issues at all

Dont go on doubts. It takes less than a min. to check for straightness.
Doubling up gaskets is not the right way to do it and it usually only changes where it leaks.
