Default '93 LT1 with boost

396 stroker with boost. Was told by tuner that it needed an ignition box to adjust timing under boost. Bought the Mallory 685, MAP sensor and harness. What happens to the old sensor? is it used too, only for fueling? This is on a friend's car, I didn't tune it so..... just going by what he said the tuner told him. I thought it odd that the tuner can't tune the spark thru the pcm, but I'nm not familiar with boosted engines.

sound like he needs a new tuner. Mark Romans is going to tune mine. hes a great guy and the best tuner in Cali

The stock PCM will still need the stock MAP sensor.

Simply mount the new MAP sensor in the desired location, run a boost line to it, and run the outputs to the 685 box.

Nothing wrong with going this route, although a competent tuner could easily do it without the Mallory.

lol this is hella funny..didnt think i would see someone on here with the same tuner as me..he tuned mine and it runs great.. mark is a very well know tuner in cali..

Just an FYI.... the incompetent tuner was Bryan from PCM4Less.
