Help, suggestions Hi Guys
A little background first:
'94 Firebird Formula auto LT1. Basically stock.
For several weeks it has been sluggish, missing, and generally running rough, but would clear some if you 'got on it'. I dismissed it as needing a full tune-up and TLC, but being our only transport kept going as long as I could.
I finally bought some plugs, but only managed to replace the 4 driver side plugs which had no affect.
Not long after, hubby and I went to work but he finished early and took the car home. He picked me up later and I drove home, the car was really bad, bearly running, having to 2 foot an auto to keep it running, hardly any power, wanting to die all the way home.
I managed to get it home, but now it won't start, not even trying, my first thought was head gasket as it seemed to crank easier than normal, and there is some 'rainbow' effect in the radiator.
Anyway as to the help needed. Would the head gasket cause it not to run at all?, or could the opti be dead and the rough running was a warning sign?.
