mph gauge off and fuel level off hey guys i have a 95 trans am and my mph gauge is reading way higher than i am actually going and my fuel level said i had a quarter tank left but actually on empty any ideas the guy i bought it from has the wrong trany in it but getting that replaced said that the original trany did not shift out of third could this all be related to the ecu....

Either way, the fuel tank gauge inaccuracy is a common problem. The tank is shaped like a V, so there's more fuel at the top than there is at the bottom. The fuel level float only measures the depth of the fuel, not the volume. 1/4 tank always means E.

Your speedometer being off might indicate a rear gear change was done and the speedometer was never corrected (via the PCM). Depending on how off it is, that can have an effect on how the transmission shifts. Do you have any SES lights?

hey guys when at 15 mph its at 45-50 speedo so dont really know and have no ses lights on car runs fine but all that other stuff is off like i said the fuel ind and mph so dont know if it is the ecu or what and i replaced the mph speedo sensor but no fix appreciate all the help if any ideas would be great i get the car back wednesday with 3600 stall trans go stage 2 shift kit hopefully every thing is better but still does not explain fuel ind any help- advice would be greatly appreciated thanks again guys-girls,
mine did that the other day and maybe its the sending unit ? or maybe its the gauge itself and the gas is EXACTLY the same as my 95 camaro lol i ran out the other day and now im having issues with fuel delivery so fill up early and often
