Besides little stuff like water pump gaskets, thread sealant, etc., nothing else from the dealer.

You really should consolidate all of your questions into one thread. I can't keep track of what exactly you're doing, what optispark you have, what year car you have, what motor, what water pump, etc.

Hey:

Why not get a Chandler Motorsports Opti, an CSR EWP, and a double roller timing set. It would be cheaper and as good an OPTI and better money spent than the other stock stuff from the dealer.

The Opti issue has been coming up a LOT on other Forums too. The general consensus is to only use an ACDELCO OPTI. Guys are posting about all sorts of problems when using other brands, even the MSD's model.

Best I can do is pass along what they're reporting: you can check Corvette Forum on the C4 Engine Tech board and LS1LT1.com LT1/LT4 board. A search will pull them up.

Hope this helps.

Then, don't use them. Lots of places online to order from. Even places like Summit, etc, carry stock sets.

that seems pretty expensive for a timing set. if the motor is stockish you can get a set (chain/gears) from one of the local parts stores for around 90 bucks if i remember right. I asked them for a replacement set and it was a cloyes. hope this helps save you some money.

I thought they carried the GMPP stuff, but maybe not.

I know it is confusing. It all depends on which body style (Y, F or B) they are referring to. Anyway, look closely at the cam gear. The one I said would work has the splines in the center required to drive your non-vented opti. The 3151 does not and has a larger hole in the center meant for the vented opti.

Hey:

OP
This is most of what you need minus, OPTI vent kit, 95-97 OPTI cable harness, gaskets and seals.
You could also add 1.6 7/16" roller rockers, pushrods, 7/16" studs, and trickflow guideplates, but could be added later, and would have spent a little more than just buying the GM dealer stuff. You would have a newer style more complete upgrade rebuild kit. Just some info for you to ponder.

For optis if you are on a budget go with the chandler motorsports, but the delco seems to be the best all around. people seem to forget that that opti that went out years after the car was made and thousands of miles was an ac delco. the only upgrade you should make over the delco is the dynaspark, but those are geared for more racing applications
