94 lt1 help plz Well we have a 94 trans am lt1 and we put in a 97 lt1 engine, tranny, wiring harness and pcm. It will crank over and the dash cluster works but there is no power to the fuel pump and no spark. Plz help if u can we did not know about this change from ob1 and obd2 thx.
Get a 94 wiring harness, PCM, it will make life a lot easier.

Yes there is, but you can just leave it with no crank sensor plugged in and make it run like a 94. Should run fine like that. Lots of people have ran it like that. Use a 94 coil/ICM too.
Crank sensor is only used on 96+ fbody's. If you go to the 94 harness and PCM you wont have to deal with any of that.

the good thing about using a 94 computer is you can get free software to tune,datalog, and monitor the engine yourself.. you just have to buy the cable for $60..
for the obd2 computer, it'll run you about $350 or more for the tuning package to be able to tune yourself..
i own a laptop so i bought an aldl cable for $60, downloaded Freescan, then i downloaded tunerproRT version5 beta for tuning... i can scan for codes, datalog, and i'm learning a little about tuning, its slow going but very interesting..
i swapped a 97 engine into my 94 camaro a couple months ago, i used the 94 computer, ignition control module, coil and knock sensor... left the crank sensor in its hole to plug the hole in the timing cover...
you can also remove the catalytic converter on a 94 and not have codes..
