What is the solenoid looking thing on the drivers frame rail that has a bunch of ground wires next to it? There is a vacuum line running to it and it has a plug. I'm removing the AIR and EGR and was curious if this could be removed too.

 

Sounds like the AIR pump recall components. You can take them out along with the rest of the AIR pump parts.

 

Is it on the outside of the framerail (non engine side)? if so it's your Cruise control.
