I'll also add that this clutch is not an ON/OFF switch.

The way I rape people on the street is launching off the 2-step and slightly sliding the clutch off the line, as opposed to just dumping it. That is easier on the drivetrain and at least gives the tires a chance to hook.

This clutch works very well for that if that's your driving style. Once you get used to the engagement point you can slide it off the line and keep the tires hooked up and launch pretty damn good off the street. Where as with a solid 6 puck disk for example, that's very hard to do because it's either on or off.

Very happy with this thing for my driving style and power level.

No idea, never picked up a SPEC 3.

I can tell you it's not much heavier than the stock clutch though... If that helps. The flywheel is the same weight as a stock LT4 Valeo, and the disk is not heavy at all.

The stage 2.5 is listed up at the top and gives you the friction material its made of and the HP rating. They dont have an LT1 part number added to the site for the stg 2.5 though, so yes you have to call.

The part number is 4134-2375

My mods are custom XFI cam only, full bolt ons, and 150 RWHP shot through the Nitrous Outlet plate kit.

Car will dyno 350 RWHP N/A with a few recent changes, and right at 500 on the bottle.

I dont know what to believe with the Valeo PP's anymore. I went round and round with them and just agreed to disagree. My clutch guy tested a Spec PP and a Autozone PP and they were withing 5% of each other IIRC. I also tested the no name cheap Chinese knock off Valeo and it was actually stronger than the Valeo.

Spec swears that they do something to make it stronger, so does clutchnet. Other vendors use the plain Jane Valeo as is. Interested to see how Comp responds to this.

Seems a stronger PP would be felt in the pedal.

Sounds like a good clutch and I am looking to try it.

That obviously indicates a stronger PP. Try to put into terms how much stronger.

I bought the Competition Clutch Stage 2 from a dealer for $243 shipped about this time last year. That may have been near dealer cost though since the guy is a fellow member of my local car club. Haven't had it running yet, but everything about this clutch kit looks high quality. Glad to hear the good reviews of the Stage 2.5, makes me even more excited to see how mine will do.

Unless Monster comes out with their LT1 clutches very sood, this Competition clutch is going to be my next clutch. Might even consider the Stage 3 full Kevlar disk as well. Good post.

I wonder how the stage 2 clutch feels compared to a stock clutch. This old spec stage 3 clutch I have is too chattery. I want something smoother.

Ive heard people say the Stage 2 drives like stock, just grips a lot harder.

My 2.5 definitely isnt like stock, but it's still easily streetable.
