Default solid roller on street

i have a LE3 solid roller cam that i want to install. if i get the correct lifters.springs,valve train setup can i drive this on the freeway to get to the track? it about a 40 min ride one way. this car does not see the street any other time.

Why wouldn't you be able to drive it on the freeway?

yeah it should be fine, the more miles you put on the faster the car is going to need valvetrain checkups.

The problem with solid roller cams on the street is that unless you get the (HIPPO) lifters the only oiling they get is from splash oiling, so at idle and low rpms the lifters aren't getting adequate oil. This leads to early lifter wear with standard solid roller lifters, so get the pressure fed lifters and you should be fine.

Comps Endurex Lifters have provisions for oiling as well.

wait... so you're saying cruising at low rpm is easier on the valvetrain than zinging up to 7000 rpm all day at the dragstrip?
