Default 6 speed transmission problem!!

i was driving my car today and when i would shift form seconde to third, the shifter would go beyond third and the shifter **** went so far forward it hit the ***** for my a/c and heat like right below my stereo deck. i was to afraid to let out the clutch so i hauled the shifter back and put it in 3rd again and it was fine. but it happened twice today. whats the problem?

Is both your bolts still there? I've seen some t56s get messed up but they never go all the way to the dash.

yup.. actually two of them fell out. i cant believe it. i had the shifter off and is there supposed to be tranny fluid under where the shifter is mounted? because theres just residue of it there now and thats it. i put the shifter back on and sealed it and put new bolts in and it feels 110% better.

No trans fluid will be in that area. If there is then you are way over full..

Yup, you can use that area to fill her up from the top when your changing your fluid but no fluid should be visable from the shifter mounting pad. You should be fine.
