replacing fpr
http://shbox.com/1/fuel_rail_94-97.jpg -- looks like an allen wrench is needed to take bolt #11 off...what size? What about the clip, #13, does that simply snap off?
Reason for replacing fpr: Car wouldn't start/would be hard to start. I put a fuel pressure gauge on the shrader valve and it showed around 45psi with ignition on (had to cycle 2x) and around 40psi at idle with car on.
While it was hard to start the SES light would come on sometimes (it would go away after the car started).
Codes were: P1371 low CKP reference at ECM
P0132 heated oxygen sensor - bank 1 sensor 1 (H02S11) high voltage) --- one of the causes of this code was fuel pressure regulator leaking
Anyway any help would be appreciated.
The P1371 is for the low resolution pulse of the optispark. This is a serious code and usually indicates your optispark is on its way out (or you've got some wiring issues). Check all of the opti connections thoroughly.
I really hate to hear that about the opti...I know it was replaced at 88k miles and the car has 106k on it now. Which connections should I check?
Thanks for your help...
I'm still curious about what you meant in your original post - "one of the causes of this code was fuel pressure regulator leaking"
shbox.com has a complete diagnostic on tracking down the problem with the optispark. Here's the link: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#opti_test
